The New York Giants are all set to play the Detroit Lions in their second game of the wild 2018 pre-season. The Giants need a breath of fresh air. Here are some players who could turn some heads vs the Lions.

The New York Giants got what they needed out of Saquon Barkley last week in his small dosage of snaps. That is very encouraging for Giants fans.

However, a breakout run from Barkley is just about all they got the last week. Davis Webb looked less than ideal and the Giants failed to win.

It is still only pre-season but a win in any competition would have been nice since the Giants scrapped together only three last season.

So, despite the loss, the pre-season goes on and it only gets more intense. This time, it is vs the Lions in Detroit. The teams have been practicing together all week, but now it is all about the game.

Let’s get right into the list of players who could turn some heads vs the Lions.

Will  Hernandez

With Saquon Barkley likely to be out, or at least very limited, that leaves the Giants and the football world another rookie to look at. His name is Will Hernandez and he is capable of great things in this league.

Hernandez is the Giants second round pick from this year. His size alone screams he is a Pat Shurmur guy already, but it has been his camp that will make him interesting to watch on Friday night.

In camp alone he is making a name for himself by getting into fights at practice and bringing his no holds barred attitude each and every day.

So, with the Giants’ much improved offensive line already a huge story of training camp and going into the season already a huge storyline, breaking it down into looking specifically into Hernandez can get interesting.

With the Lions likely to start all their players on the defensive line, including Ezekiel Ansah, Hernandez will be put on high responsibility.

If Hernandez can play well and truck his way through his first few series’ he can turn a lot of heads and put the rest of the Giants and the league on notice.
