Best to never win

When it’s all said and done, Carmelo Anthony might go down as the most prolific scorer to never win a championship.

He is that good. He will be a Hall of Famer too. But that might come with an asterisk if he never hoists the Larry O’Brien trophy.

As a Knick, it almost felt like he never cared about winning. The Knicks had some good seasons, but they are overshadowed by the bad ones. Melo never seemed to hustle, help his teammates try to be better, and wouldn’t pass the torch to the next guy.

So, this is what everybody is saying about Melo. He never won anything with the Knicks.

How can anything overshadow this and how cannot it be part of his legacy. It is the most important thing.

You do not make it as a New York Knick or even important New York City sports figure without winning championships. Unlike the rest who might never have either, Melo never even really came close.

It is simple. So, if Melo goes off to Houston and wins a title, it will definitely and should leave a sour taste in Knicks fans mouth. It is just the one thing he was supposed to but never did for them.

So, Melo, you were a good Knick. But there is a lot of negative things surrounding your legacy in the blue and orange. Don’t expect the number seven to be hung up in rafters of the iconic Madison Square Garden, like you, that ship has sailed.
