Barely any national TV games

The Brooklyn Nets do not appear to be a big draw for the league based on how little national TV games they have as of now.

At the release, according to NBA.com, the Nets have just six games on national TV. Only one of which is on ESPN with the rest on NBATV.

The Nets have zero games as part of the NBA’s TV deal with TNT and they have no games on ABC.

Of the six total, only three are going to be at home in Brooklyn, and in all but arguably one or two of the games the Nets’ opponent has a bonafide star on them.

The Nets play the Lakers, Bucks twice, Mavericks, Cavs, and Blazers on their nationally televised games.

So, in all but one Brooklyn will not be the focus. Only the new look Cavs are a team that might not have a star bigger than anyone on the Nets.

So, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dirk Nowitzki, Damian Lillard, arguably even Kevin Love, are all likely the reasons the Nets even have any games on national TV at all or at least not the bare minimum.

It is not really surprising the Nets do not have many games in front of a bigger audience because they simply do not have a star player yet and are coming off an abysmal stretch on their history.

However, it is still discouraging to see how little the Nets will get a national stage again. It really has been a while.

Hopefully for the team and their fans, not being part of the leagues star-driven TV contracts will motivate them to play well and impress. They can control how they are perceived nationally by playing well in these games.
