New York Jets: Five players to watch vs. the Atlanta Falcons
Chad Hansen
The Jets have a deep, albeit unknown, wide receiver depth chart. Frankly, they are a lot better than the national media thinks they are. Look for 2018 to be their coming out party, no matter who the quarterback is.
Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson and Jermaine Kearse round out the top of the depth chart. As we move down, however, there are spots to be had. With his ability to be an emergency quarterback, Terrelle Pryor has a track on a spot, but he isn’t the only game in town.
Chad Hansen is back for his second season. In his final season at Cal he posted 92 receptions and 11 touchdowns. That is no accident. It is due to the fact that he is an excellent route runner with ever-improving hands.
He came on a bit when he earned playing time in 2017, posting nine receptions for 94 yards. It’s time for him to take that next step.
Hansen spent some time with Darnold earlier in the summer, working out together on the West Coast. However, we haven’t heard much out of him during training camp.
Let’s see if he can begin to make his mark against the Falcons. Under the lights is the most important time in making roster decisions.
