New York Giants: Three storylines to follow during matchup with Browns
They will not expose Saquon
The Giants are obviously going to play their projected starters very little on Thursday night. However, what typically is due to injuries is also something completely different for Saquon.
Of course, the Giants do not want Barkley to go out there and get injured. But, there are a lot of question marks surrounding his development. The Giants do not need to rush him into their system and put a lot of pressure on him.
Also, they do not want to expose him and show off all the wonderful things that he will be able to do for big blue.
The first pre-season game is always good for the sake that its good to get out there and the fans get to see their team again.
For Saquon, it really means nothing because we all know, at least we think we know, what the Giants already have in him.
Even as the pre-season goes on beyond this Thursday he should not do anything crazy.
But for now, against the Browns, Saquon’s minimal and methodical workload will be interesting to see.
Just how far will the Giants let him go this early on. More specifically, what do they want him do? What skill set is he going to show off first?
He will be a stud in this league but it won’t happen over night.
