OBJ should see little time

I hate to come off as just another person who talks about Odell Beckham Jr. and his roller coaster ride that is his contract talks, but until this is 100% settled it cannot be ignored.

The Giants will obviously do the right thing and pay him massively soon, they just needed to see more out of Odell the football player and less the celebrity like they were seeing before doing anything.

Odell wisely took a huge step in the right direction towards his pay-day when he decided not to hold out and show up for camp. By being the bigger man, he showed up and just showed that he wants to play football.

Giants better step up their end of the OBJ contract talk. light. Related Story

That alone might just be enough to speed up the negotiating process.

So, what does that have to do with Thursday’s game vs the Browns?

It is simple. Follow very closely how much Odell is doing. Not necessarily how many drives he plays or his production, but more of how hard he is trying, how he is behaving himself, and how he looks out there.

It could even be argued that Odell should not play at all considering it was the game against Cleveland where OBJ got hurt last pre-season, but not playing also would hurt him because it would come off as him being lazy and wanting money.

So, really no matter what he does his contract issues will be a storyline to follow. However, expect and watch OBJ to control everything he can in that regard.

Will he show he is a team player? Will he play to avoid injury? Play to try to get a contract. It is likely nothing too crazy will happen, but all those questions are worth pondering as you watch the game.
