New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is being recruited by Cleveland Browns receiver Jarvis Landry. Unfortunately for him, OBJ isn’t going to Cleveland.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry has been asking the Browns to try to trade for New York Giants receiver and his friend Odell Beckham Jr.

Landry told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, that Beckham told him that he would be open to the possibility of playing for the Browns. He also said that he talks with Beckham a lot.

"“If things like that are able to happen and the team can make it happen, then why not?He definitely would be (up for it). He would be.We’ve had talks,” he said with a smile, “but at the end of the day, I want him to be happy. I want him to get what he deserves and you can’t put nothing on that regardless of where it’s at.”"

Sorry to break the news to you Jarvis, but Odell isn’t going to Cleveland. OBJ loves being in the New York spotlight. He had a boat party in Miami and has hung out with New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton and taken part in Yankees batting practice.

He has quite the life in New York.

Another reason Beckham won’t be going to the Browns is he has started contract negotiations with the Giants.

While the negotiations are on hold for now after the Giants valued OBJ at less than $16 million, a deal could be reached before the season starts.

The Giants could make Beckham the highest-paid receiver in the NFL, and if that happens there’s no way Odell would leave the Giants.

So, why is Landry trying to recruit his former LSU teammate? Probably because the Browns don’t have a lot of depth when it comes to receivers.

The Browns traded Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Rashard Higgins and rookie Antonio Callaway will compete for Coleman’s spot. The Browns have Josh Gordon, but he has missed camp due to getting treatment for his substance-abuse problems.

The Browns have said they would consider trying to get Dez Bryant but got the impression that Bryant doesn’t want to play for the Browns, according to ESPN.

The Giants open the preseason on Thursday against the Browns. Jarvis you shouldn’t even try to get the Giants to trade Odell to the Browns on Thursday because it won’t happen.
