The 2018-19 NBA season is closer than some might think and with that we have to look at some realistic goals for the New York Knicks.

The New York Knicks are coming off yet another horrendous season and to no surprise it doesn’t look like 2018-19 will be much better. The Knicks had a pretty mellow off-season with the exception of the draft.

This off-season the Knicks added Kevin Knox who they selected with their ninth overall pick. Knox is a 6’9″ 213 forward out of the University of Kentucky, who will likely play a bench role on minimal minutes for the Knicks next season.

The selection of Knox surprised and annoyed many. Not because Knox is a bad player but because of who they passed on. The Knicks passed on former number one recruit Michael Porter jr., as well as two-time National Champion, Mikal Bridges.

Bridges was selected right after with the tenth pick to Philadelphia but was later traded to Phoenix. Porter on the other hand was selected five picks later to Denver after falling due to his injury concerns.

With their second-round pick the Knicks took Mitchell Robinson, which surprised many due to his lack of experience. Robinson elected not to play in college last season in an effort to prepare for this very draft.

The two showed out in the Summer League and showed Knicks fans not to be too early to jump the gun. With this being said lets jump into a few realistic goals heading into the 2018-19 season.
