The New York Yankees are in some of their most desperate days this franchise has seen in a while. Desperate enough to make a major move for Saturday’s game in Boston.

The New York Yankees have reached their breaking point. Despite all the major deadline moves the Yankees made, it is not enough. On Saturday, Chance Adams will starts in one of the biggest games of the year.

The Yankees have no choice here. They could either have moved up everyone and pitched them on short rest which a risk no team who needs to win should take.

Or, they could have relied heavily on their bullpen. That too would be a risk considering how overworked they are from the debacle that was the Orioles series earlier this week.

So, the Yankees only option was to call up one of their arms from the minors. So, that is why we are here. Chance Adams is the only option. He is the only risky decision that has room to fail.

If he does fail, no one will call for Aaron Boone‘s head. If he does not fail, the Yankees are going to have another good pitcher which they desperately need. Win-win situation.

The best part is, this is all destiny for the youngster Adams. Everything that had to go wrong in order for Brian Cashman to make this decision did. Justus Sheffield can’t pitch. Happ is on the DL. Lance Lynn is not fresh.

As much as this is the Yankees only option, it is the perfect option. You can’t mess with destiny and fate. You should never doubt what is meant to be, this is what is meant to be.

The Yankees also might desperately need this win but even seeing something positive out of Adams can make him a lock to remain called up. That is what can help the Yankees more in the long-run.

The Yankees are not as screwed now. Although these are far from the circumstances that the Yankees wanted Adams to inherit it is not as much pressure. He is not getting called up to see what he can do for the team in the playoffs, he is getting called up simply to pitch in a game.

The Red Sox, on the road, is a massive test but it is what he needs to do. It is a great way to see what he is made of and with this stage already being so massive, whatever he does next will feel like a cakewalk.

The Yankees needed something to happen. They need someone who can go out and get a good start. This might not happen with Adams but its better than jeopardizing things beyond the Red Sox series.

So, give Adams a Chance and hope lightning can strike a bottle because he is not only what the Yankees need, but what they are destined to have. Big game on Saturday.
