New York Rangers: Three things to expect this upcoming season
Some long nights in The Garden
The New York Rangers focusing on development in the future will not be the worst thing but it obviously will not result in a lot of wins this season.
The Blue Shirts, the fans, the players, pretty much everyone understands the Rangers’ plan for this season, to build a future contender.
Knowing that it does not happen overnight and knowing that not every player can strike lightning in a bottle all at once, the Rangers can play well without a lot of success.
The Rangers know the direction they are going so there might be runs, much like there was towards the end of last year, where they get little hot and win some games. But, that will just happen to few and far between in 2018-2019.
The Rangers should not focus on the standings this year, but, like mentioned in the previous slide more in-depth, the way the players look and improve.
As a team, the Rangers just very likely be there in terms of a playoff run. They will lose a lot of games and some pretty badly.
Coach Quinn is in hist first season, most of the team is young, and their iconic goaltender is aging. Even his role diminishing will result in a lot of losing.
So, yes, there will be some long nights in The Garden and things might look rough but it is all for another run towards Lord Stanley one day.
The Rangers might shock some people, and stars might emerge. However, you should not expect the Rangers to win a lot of hockey games this season.
