New York Knicks: Three things to expect in the 2018-2019 season
The Knicks just need this year to be over
The New York Knicks, as this was kind of talked about in previous slides, are in a rebuild. There are little to no expectations this season and they really just need it to start and end with little drama or issue.
Why do you ask? Because the Knicks have the best chance to build a team in free agency in the 2019 offseason and beyond.
With players like Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, and Kemba Walker set to be due big paydays, the Knicks are always a team to talk about.
As long as the Knicks use this upcoming season to show at least an ounce of competence and get creative to create a bunch of cap space, free agents will want to join the Knicks.
All the old, negative connotations with the old Phil Jackson regime can be forgotten after this year if the Knicks just understand their situation. They do not have the best team but potentially could have a really good one.
A traditional rebuild and somewhere around 35-40 wins will do wonders for the Knicks. They need to get or stay healthy and just be a team. A normal team. If they do that, they can go back to the free agent hot bed and back to the Knicks we all know.
2018-2019 NBA season is closer than you think. The New York Knicks will not have a spectacular season but there are still things their fans should want to see out of them.
The Knicks can use this upcoming season as leverage to attract free agents and put this team in a great position beyond it.
