New York Knicks: Three things to expect in the 2018-2019 season
Will Kevin Knox show his immense potential?
In what has to feel like the sweetest moment of the offseason so far, Kevin Knox spent his reps in summer league proving all his doubters wrong. However, it is a brand new demon playing regular season basketball.
The Knicks should be smart here and wisely wait a little bit of time before throwing Knox out there but if things start going sour the fans are going to want to see Knox step up.
Know has all the athleticism in the world to be a great player in the league and he seems to be a pretty good kid, however, he needs to shine bright this year.
Granted there is really no rush for him to show even flashes of greatness, it is still a season where he should. With no Porzingis and a new coach, Knox has ample room and time to leave an important first impression.
This is not even as much about his progression as much as it will be him being thrust into the spotlight. No matter what he does, people will be focused on Kevin Knox until given reasons not too.
Knox went to a big school in Kentucky, was drafted into immediate doubt, and is so young. All those factors make him ready to shine.
Although he won’t be the star of this team in 2018-2019, expect him to develop and take a majority of the spotlight for a while. The good news is if Knox fails to meet this expectation this is likely all a trial year for him and the Knicks anyway.
