Building around the Latvian

This might be painfully obvious but it is still important to address. The New York Knicks are still Kristaps Porzingis’ team. Even though there is essentially no chance he plays anything close to a full season, Porzingis is the centerpiece of this team, even this upcoming season.

Any moves the Knicks might make during the season that can even remotely affect the long-term future will have something to do with Kristaps Porzingis.

Despite not being on the court, as we all watch the rookies or youngsters play everyone will still wonder how they would be playing with Porzingis out there.

More from Empire Writes Back

Despite all the rumors and polarizing factors all New York sports stars take on, the Knicks are clearly high on him and want to build around him.

No matter what happens, he is the centerpiece. Even Kevin Knox‘s amazing summer has not made anyone forget about the Latvian star.

The Knicks will be waiting patiently for Porzingis to get healthy. They will be in no rush to bring him back and will try to keep him happy.

Even new Head Coach David Fizdale went out of his way to meet with Porzingis to try to form some kind of relationship with him and build chemistry.

So, do not let the injury, emergence of other players, rumors, or anything else get to your head.

The New York Knicks are still heading into 2018-2019 and even beyond with Kristaps Porzingis being the man to build around and the face of the franchise. Fully expect this.
