Make some phone calls

Although Aaron Judge is irreplaceable, and him getting injured never comes at a good time, the Yankees should feel a little lucky that the MLB trade deadline has not happened yet.

There are still players on teams that might be on the move and the Yankees should pick up their phone give a few dollars or prospects here and there to pick up and extra outfielder on the block.

The irony is that a player like Jose Bautista could come along. He is turning heads in Queens for a Mets team going nowhere. He is making next to nothing and should be considered to help the Bronx side for the next few weeks.

Another random option is a guy like Carlos Gonzalez from the Rockies. He is making more money but not doing much for a Rockies team competing. The Yanks can pay some of his money give up almost nothing to get him in pinstripes.

The tough thing about getting an outfielder through a trade is that the Yankees don’t need one for the rest of the year. It will be tough to give up any type of asset to keep one around when they might be useless in a few months.

But, Brian Cashman is a wizard and the Yanks might want to bring in an outfielder who has something to prove to help replace Judge.

Since this is depressing news, it might help the clubhouse and the team to bring in a new face for a breath of fresh air.

Plus, you never know, if lighting strikes a bottle with someone the Yanks trade for they will be even better than they were when Judge went down.

Also, call the Nationals they might be trying to be sellers at the deadline. They got a lot of good players too.

These are just some players that would not to be too hard to pry away from their current teams to fill a Yankees need.
