Physicality in the Secondary

No matter what the win-loss record turns out to be, look for this group to bring some heat in 2018. These guys are going to make the fans excited.

Trumaine Johnson is here. His reputation as a cornerback speaks for itself. 18 interceptions over his first six years in the NFL is nothing to sneeze at. The Jets really haven’t had that good a cornerback around since the prime of that Darrelle Revis guy.

His addition to the roster already increases the physicality. Johnson is known for playing press coverage, which we all know is a physical style of defense. He turns up the physicality by himself and gives Morris Claiborne the freedom to get more physical.

Next. Three questions to answer on offense during Jets camp. dark

You know who else is going to get freedom to hit, and hit hard? Jamal Adams. With improvement on the outside, Adams won’t have to help them as much. Locking the outside down frees up the safeties to roam around.

Jamal Adams will have the freedom to watch the quarterback and keep his eyes on the football. What does that mean? He can go after it like a missile. He can OWN the middle of the football field.

That means that receivers had better watch out. This Jets secondary is going to lay people out in 2018.
