Safeties

  • Jamal Adams: 86

    • This is on the high side. It’s not that Adams should have a really low number, but 86? He recorded 82 total tackles, six passes defended, two sacks, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. However he didn’t record an interception. That should bring the rating down a little, maybe to an 82 or an 83.
  • Marcus Maye: 78

    • Now based on the production, this is low. If Adams is an 86 Maye needs to be in the eighties. Some have argued that Maye had a better rookie season than Adams did, and Maye picked off two passes. 78 isn’t horrendously low, it’s just that he should be ranked comparatively to Adams and this just isn’t high enough to be correct.
  • Terrence Brooks: 76

    • With two interceptions in just 92 defensive snaps, Brooks is right where he should be with a rating of 76.
  • Rontez Miles and J.J. Wilcox: 71

    • The rating for Miles doesn’t hold much relevance since he suffered a torn meniscus, putting him out of the lineup at least 3-4 months. Wilcox is ranked appropriately with the 71. His best year came in 2014 with the Cowboys when he posted three interceptions, but has posted at least one in each season since 2014.
  • Doug Middleton: 63

    • Middleton is a backup that hasn’t been in a game since 2016. There is nothing to see here.
