New York Jets: Madden NFL 19 offensive player ratings
Running Backs
-
Bilal Powell: 79
- On one hand, it makes sense for Powell to have the top running back rating on the team (tied with Isaiah Crowell). But one could argue that the rating should even be higher with how good Powell is as a blocker and a pass catcher as well as a runner. His elusivity rating is high (80) which is good. His catch rating is 72, far higher than anyone on the team with does correctly reflect Powell’s dual threat capabilities.
-
Isaiah Crowell: 79
- Crowell is a guy that has only had one season where his yards per carry were under four yards, so the high overall makes sense. His acceleration rating is the highest on the team with a 92. With an 85 yard run under his belt, leading the league with the longest run in 2016, the rating works. He can clearly hit that home run. Personally I have never been a big fan of Crowell but he has ability and the rating reflects that.
-
Elijah McGuire: 72
- Here comes the big drop off in the running back ratings. McGuire is a bit of a victim of a bad 2017 Jets team. He only looked good in the game against the Jaguars but that was true for the Jets running game as a whole. He’s agile as reflected in his position high 90 rating, but that is about all the ratings team saw in him last year. It remains to be seen if that is right.
-
Thomas Rawls: 73
- Rawls has had his moments in the league with five 100 yard performances to his credit, one being over 200 yards. He just hasn’t gotten a chance to start consistently. The rating is good because he’s not likely to last long on this Jets team with the likes of Powell and Crowell here. Best case scenario for him is third string.
-
Trenton Cannon: 70
- Coming from a small school, Cannon has his speed as his biggest weapon, running the forty yard dash with a 1.49 split. That’s reflected in his 92 speed rating, but with his size he won’t be more than a kick returner so this rating will likely stay put.
