The New York Knicks have officially started play in the NBA Summer League and in the small dosages we have seen of him, Kevin  Knox looks just fine so far.

The New York Knicks made a rather surprising selection when they took Kevin Knox in the first round of the NBA Draft. He is super young and clearly needs some work but maybe less than some might have thought.

In the Summer League so far, Kevin Knox is doing it all. In his first game over the weekend, he dropped 22 points and had a respectable eight rebounds. There is a lot more to the story than just his stats but he is beginning to turn heads.

A lot of Knicks seem content with the selection, he is proving them right. Knox did struggle in terms of his range. As the Summer League progresses he is still missing a lot of shots and taking a lot of threes.

But enough with the bad things. Knox overall is playing very well. He is finding ways to get to the rim and going up hard for boards. His highlight reel dunks are showing off his true athleticism.

The biggest thing with Knox his confidence. No matter what he needs to be confident in his own ability and skill set. He is doing just that. Knox is managing to take some risky threes but they ate good looks, he has no fear to go up high and hard to the basket.

The Summer League almost feels like it is just for fun but it is still encouraging to see Knox taking this stage to show his skills.

He is playing fine. He is not spectacular but is bringing it in these first two games. Knox is doing a good job of setting the tone and scoring early in the first quarter to get into a groove. Something he maintains as the game progresses.

As a team, the Knicks still need a lot of work on defense and overall consistency with thoer shooting. Knox, in particular, needs to work on his jump shot.

However, that is exactly why he is here. Everyone knows he needs time to develop his basketball smarts and shooting.

But so far in the summer, he is showing the potential the Knicks saw in him. Knox has shown in these games so far that he wants to be a two-way scorer.

If all else fails for the Knicks this offseason, at least the know that Kevin Knox’s progression is going very smoothly.

This is encouraging for the Knicks so far. We just got tp see if Knox can play like this consistently as things progress around him. However, I don’t expect that to be a problem because he seems focused.

The rebuild is on track and as long as he continues to hustle and be honest about his performance like he is, Kevin Knox will be just fine as one of the Knicks’ next potential stars.
