Teddy Bridgewater Will Be Traded

OK maybe this isn’t that bold to all of you, but it is bold to some. Bridgewater has looked good in the limited camp practices that have taken place so far. Soon enough we will see if his health extends into regular football instead of just shorts and tee shirts. It is encouraging and more than many of us expected.

However, he is there for insurance only. There is a reason Bridgewater was signed for minimal money with incentives. Josh McCown is playing on a one-year contract worth $10 million including the signing bonus. Sam Darnold is the future of the franchise. He isn’t going anywhere. Bridgewater only came with $1 million guaranteed.

Darnold is going to keep ascending and either play right away or by game five. McCown’s ten million won’t be traded. Nobody is going to take on that contract. During the preseason they will use Bridgewater and ultimately trade him to a team that needs a quarterback. With the Jameis Winston situation, the Buccaneers might just be an early favorite.

He will be traded, mark it down.
