We are exactly 12 Sundays away from the beginning of the New York Giants season. With that, I begin my weekly opponent overviews. First up, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In week one of the 2018 NFL season the New York Giants will be playing the 2017 AFC Runner-ups, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars were unbelievably fantastic last season cruising to a 10-6 record and coming up only four points short of sending the AFC Championship Game to overtime.

This match-up against the Jaguars will be the first time we see Saquon Barkley in a Giants uniform as well as the first time we see Odell Beckham Jr. back on the field since his season ending injury last year.

With that and the reloading of the offensive line the Giants are expected to seriously improve upon their 3-13 mark last season.

This will also be the first time we get to see if the Jaguars were just a fluke last season or if they are a legit contender for the next few years. Without Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson this season, the Jaguars will be rocking a new wide receiver corps.

It will, however, be the same wide receiver corps that we saw for a majority of the 2017 season since Hurns and Robinson were both injured.

Let us not forget the Jags’ head coach, Doug Marrone is a New York guy so the G-Men will be looking to spoil his homecoming.

Let us make some predictions, preview the best things to watch for, and just overall give you everything you need to know about Big Blue’s season opener at home vs the Jags.

So let’s dive in and see how the Giants stack up against the Jaguars ahead of their week one matchup.
