Here we take a look through the years and we list the top five managers in the history of the New York Mets. Who are your favorites?

The history of the New York Mets has been one long roller coaster ride. They have had great highs and many long lows. The same could be said about their rookie manager, Mickey Callaway. It was a lights out start with an 11-1 record. The balance of the year has been the aforementioned roller coaster. Some have speculated that Callaway is in over his head, but it isn’t his fault that he has no depth to replace injured players.

Who knows what the future holds for Callaway? Maybe he is in over his head. He could finally get a roster that is complete in the talent department. That would send his career into the stratosphere. As rookie manager the future is wide open, despite what fans think of his decisions during the 2018 season. He could even earn a spot on the upcoming list.

What list, you ask? Very good question. Today we are going back through the history of the Amazins and looking at the best skippers. More specifically, we are taking a look and counting down the five best managers in franchise history. Despite only two World Series victories, there have been successful managers. We start with number five.
