There are some players that just always produce, no matter what their age is. They say that running backs start to turn the other way at age 30. Some are exceptions to the rule.

There used to be a saying with Jets fans that the only guarantees were “Death, taxes and 1,000 yards by Curtis Martin“. He was one of the aforementioned exceptions, winning his only rushing title after age 30.

Similar comments can be made about one Jets 2018 opponent, Frank Gore. In 13 seasons, he has rushed for over 1,000 yards in nine of them. Three of them occurred after turning the ripe old age of 30. After carrying the ball 261 times last season he is showing no signs of slowing down.

Gore is also a dual threat, averaging 34 receptions over his career. And with Marlon Mack, among others, on the roster, they can give Gore rest during the game. In four previous games against the Jets, he has been held relatively in check with 63 yards per game. But this isn’t the same Jets defense.

They need to be careful with this guy.
