The Madden NFL 19 ratings have begun to leak to the public. We have seen the team rankings and the New York Jets are bringing up the rear.

OK, where are the gamers? I know you are out there. Video games and video game playing are all the rage, so much so we have a Twitch channel for gaming. Who loves the Madden video games? The majority of us reading these articles aren’t NFL players, so we get our thrill out of playing the video game. We have even won championships using the New York Jets. We can all dream, right?

Well, we are approaching a new football season and that means a new edition of the game. NFL Madden 19 is set to be released later this year. However, we love when the ratings come out, don’t we? Guess what, fans? The ratings have started to leak. Just recently, the team ratings were leaked to the public. Jets fans won’t be happy though. Take a look:

So the Jets are alone in last place with a rating of 72. The team isn’t getting a lot of respect, are they?

What they are doing is rating the team by simply looking at the roster on paper. The starting quarterback is either old, coming off of a major injury or a rookie. The wide receivers don’t have anyone on paper that people call a star. Who is going to be the lead running back? On the offensive line, the only change was Spencer Long.

The defense has lost Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson for various reasons. Other than Trumaine Johnson, who is the real star on that side of the football? There really aren’t any players for a ratings person to latch on to. It’s not difficult to see where the ratings team is coming from.

It goes back to the assumption that most of the experts make that the Jets aren’t any good. Remember last year? One NFL executive went so far as to say the team had the worst roster in a decade. It was assumed that the Jets would have the first pick in the draft and they ended up winning five games. No they weren’t a playoff team but they were far more competitive than anyone thought they would be.

This year the oddsmakers put the over/under on the Jets win total at six. They won five last year and made improvements, but still the team gets no respect in the prediction department. This is the same thing going on with the Madden ratings. They look at paper and nothing else.

Next: Potential Bridgewater trade

As a Jets fan I find the ratings offensive, but as a football “expert” I can understand it. The rest of the world has a different look at things than all of us in New York that love the team. If they were to read what was going on with the team at this time, the ratings might be different.

Hopefully these ratings will rise as the preseason goes along.
