David Wright has been a Met for a while so success might feel inevitable but few Mets players found it quite like him.

David Wright was part of mostly dark days for the New York Mets. But he has been part of the teams most recent successes.

Despite the observation that Wright might have had smaller roles on the Mets’ most recent playoff teams everyone was still happy for him that he was there.

All personal accolades aside let’s look at the facts. In David Wright’s time as a Met, the team accomplished the following.

  • One Pennant in 2015
  • Division title in 2015
  • 2006 Division Champions
  • 2006 NLCS appearance
  • 2016 NL Wild Card Game

The Mets made the playoffs three times in total with Wright. Not many other players in Mets history can say they have been on that many winning teams.

Citi Field has also hosted the All-Star game in Wright’s time here. That was a big deal for the franchise as well.

Even taking away all the personal stuff Wright has done, he accomplished a lot. The Mets had some great years with Wright playing at least a functioning level.

Those are Mets season that will never be forgotten. Wright should never be forgotten either because of that.
