Trade Scenario Number Two

The only way for the Knicks to move up into the second slot would be if they were to make a three-way trade. In this particular scenario I brought in the Minnesota Timberwolves who have been in the news recently for multiple reasons. One of which was that they were rumored to be looking for a trade for Tyus Jones to ensure the re-signing of Derrick Rose.

In this trade instance the Knicks would be getting the former Duke point guard, Tyus Jones.

Knicks Receive: Second Overall Pick, Tyus Jones

Kings Receive: 2019 First Round Pick, Trey Burke, Taj Gibson

Timberwolves Receive: Ninth Overall Pick, Harry Giles

This is a trade that would benefit all three of these teams. The Knicks get the second overall pick in the draft and a player who has proven himself in recent years in Tyus Jones.

The Kings get a 2019 first round pick, Trey Burke who had an outstanding season with the Knicks, and Taj Gibson who doesn’t have to prove anything anymore, and the Timberwolves get the ninth overall pick, and Harry Giles who has a bright future if he can remain healthy.

Next: The Knicks need LeBron

Like I said earlier, this trade is a long-shot, but it is possible none the less if the Knicks truly wanted to trade up for a player who could be the best prospect in the draft in Marvin Bagley III.

Bagley was one of the best players in the country this past season winning both ACC Top Freshman, and ACC Top Player Honors in 2017-18. Bagley averaged 21.0 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while leading Duke to an Elite Eight bid.
