Trade Scenario Number One

Trade scenario number one goes down as follows:

More from Empire Writes Back

In this scenario the Knicks would be giving up Trey Burke, the ninth overall pick, and the 37th overall pick. This scenario would be in an effort to get Luka Doncic who played the past few seasons with Real Madrid in the Euro League.

This previous season Doncic went for 14.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. Keep in mind this is in the Euro League which plays somewhat similar to college basketball here. Doncic tore it up this past season ultimately leading Real Madrid to a championship.

There is a good chance that the Grizzlies wouldn’t take a trade like this, it would take a bit more convincing such as a future first or second round pick, but this would still be a good deal for the Knicks. Doncic is drawing excellent comparisons to NBA players and is said to be the next great overseas talent in the NBA.

Giving up Trey Burke is a good move for the Knicks seeing he is entering his final season under contract and is going to be seeking a much bigger contract when the 2019 off-season rolls around. But in this trade they would be getting another point guard with a bright future in Luka Doncic.
