Right Tackle: Marvin Powell

When putting together an offensive line, having talented tackles is a big help. Marvin Powell was another player yielded from the profitable 1977 NFL Draft. Powell was selected in the first round with the fourth overall pick, and almost immediately became the starting right tackle. He performed his duties successfully through the end of the 1985 season. Starting 123 out of 124 games is quite the accomplishment.

How successful was he? He went to the Pro Bowl five straight seasons from 1979-1983. During that time period, he was first team All-Pro three times. I’d say that is a pretty solid career. All of the players that Dan Alexander blocked for could be said for Powell as well. Through good teams and bad teams, Powell was trusted to hold down the right side. He’s the guy for this starting team.

So this is the ultimate Jets lineup on offense. Remember we weren’t necessarily going for the best players, we were going for the best fit to succeed in 2018. This group would make an excellent fit and would become a winning football team. Of course there is room for debate here, so let the debate begin in the comments.
