Brandon Nimmo is rolling as the New York Mets continue their weekend series in Milwaukee. This is the kind of groove some have expected for a long time.

Brandon Nimmo did not start the season as someone who had a spot in the everyday lineup. The corner of the outfield is held mostly by the big money stars in Jay Bruce and Yoenis Cespedes. Michael Conforto emerged onto the scene to be the center fielder of the future. Although the New York Mets have spent all season shuffling around the outfield, Nimmo never had enough time to prove himself.

Now though, it seems like all the stars are aligning. We all hate to see injuries, especially ones that end seasons like for Juan Lagares, however with Cespedes also on the disabled list, Nimmo has been able to get his reps in.

He is not disappointing. At the time of writing this article, Nimmo is coming off a 4-for-4 game. This includes the elusive to most triple. Before that, he carried the Mets in the Marlins series including carrying the load on offense for Jacob deGrom.

More from New York Mets

It is not too often that players have hot stretches and go on tears for weeks at a time. For Brandon Nimmo, however, this is a better story. No matter how much depth the Mets outfield has on paper, Nimmo always manages to find his way into the lineup.

Yes, Mickey Callaway and crew will have a tough decision to make when Cespedes comes back in terms of what to do with the lineup, but it feels as if Nimmo should not go anywhere.

He is peaking at the right time. He is doing wonders on offense at a time where most others are struggling.

Through all the circumstances that have landed Nimmo in Queens, it is tough to believe that they will go away.

Injuries constantly nag the Mets and there is always at least a few players missing a significant amount of time. Even when everyone is healthy, it might not last a while. Thus, always creating a role for Nimmo.

But perhaps the best part of all is that Nimmo is just happy to be here. It does not take me telling you to see how happy Nimmo is to be a Met. He always plays with a smile. Him sprinting to first after a walk or sprinting the bases after a homer says it all.

Nimmo is grateful for everything. He understands that baseball is supposed to be fun. Now that his baseball is also flat-out good, it makes it that much sweeter.

It is a rare change for New York Mets fans to see a player like Nimmo. No pressure of the New York market, never bombarded by media about his ability. Very little can bring him down.

Although Nimmo has not exactly peaked yet or even done enough to garner more attention, he will get there. It is safe to say he will not change his ways, regardless of what people are saying or what role he plays for this team.

Nimmo, as cliché as this might sound, is always smiling. Now, and for a while, he will have a reason to.

There is no need to keep looking for Brandon Nimmo. He is here.
