Eric Reid

Once one of the bright young stars in the league, Eric Reid has fallen on some tough times in recent seasons. The five-year veteran has had some durability issues over the past two years, missing nine out of a possible 32 games due to various injuries.

Yet, when he’s healthy, Reid is one of the most productive safeties in the league. A renowned hard hitter with a knack for making big plays when they matter most, Reid would be an excellent partner for Landon Collins and the two would form one of the most physical safety tandems in the league.

The free agent safety is as controversial as they come, however. The free agent safety has made headlines for his protests during the national anthem and, as of last month, independently filing a collusion grievance against the NFL.

Clearly, that’s a lot of baggage take on, and signing Reid could be both a public relations and revenue nightmare for most teams around the league. However, the Giants play in one of the most liberal markets in the country and while not everyone would like a possible deal with Reid, it’s likely that the fan base will stay engaged with the team.
