With the draft order now official, we will take a second look at potential selections for the New York Knicks as we approach the 2018 NBA Draft.

Earlier this week the NBA Draft Lottery took place in Chicago where teams such as the New York Knicks officially found out where they would be picking in the 2018 NBA Draft. The lottery shook out as follows:

  1. Phoenix Suns
  2. Sacramento Kings
  3. Atlanta Hawks
  4. Memphis Grizzlies
  5. Dallas Mavericks
  6. Orlando Magic
  7. Chicago Bulls
  8. Cleveland Cavaliers (from Boston Celtics via Brooklyn Nets)
  9. New York Knicks
  10. Philadelphia 76ers (from Los Angeles Lakers via Phoenix Suns)
  11. Charlotte Hornets
  12. Los Angeles Clippers (from Detroit Pistons)
  13. Los Angeles Clippers
  14. Denver Nuggets

Unlike other teams such as the Mavericks, who were tied for the third-worst record in the league and ended up with the fifth pick, the lottery did not affect the Knicks whatsoever. The Knicks were the ninth-worst team in the league this past season (or 21st-best if you want to be positive) and ended up with the ninth overall pick.

It is now official that the Knicks will be picking ninth overall in the first round and 37th overall in the second round, barring any potential trades. With that being said we now have a better look at who the Knicks could potentially take when they are on the clock.

Here are the holes the Knicks will be looking to fill:

  • Point Guard (2018-19 is Trey Burke’s last year under contract)
  • Small Forward
  • Shooting Guard
  • Center (2018-19 is Enes Kanter’s last year under contract)

Let’s dive in and take a look at who the New York Knicks may draft when they are on the clock for the 2018 NBA Draft.
