Toronto Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs just took an outstanding Boston Bruins team to a full seven games in the playoffs. They have a growing star in Auston Matthews already there.

The veteran JT and the young, immensely talented Matthews would provide a great dynamic where both could benefit. Even if they clash at first, the hockey itself would still be beautiful.

Tavares might be done being the only superstar on his team and Matthews is one in his own right as well.

But, in classic Maple Leaf fashion, they are sort of hot-mess right now for they just fired their general manager. But, they did make the playoffs.

Playing for the old-fashioned Mike Babcock might not be something the veteran Tavares wants to do, but the Isles’ captain track record shows how coachable and how much of a team player he is.

So, even if Tavares has his next team set in stone in his head, because they are the hometown team, and a polarizing team, Tavares should at least hear a pitch from the Leafs to sign him.
