San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks are rarely a team that makes moves in the free agent market. However, this deadline they made some impressive trades and risked a lot to be contenders these playoffs.

If not for a historical expansion season for the Golden Knights, the Sharks were likely looking at their second conference final in three seasons.

The thing is, the Sharks are not filled with that de-facto “franchise player.” They have a lot of talent, play with a lot of grit, succeed in a tough division, and rarely miss the playoffs.

Those are all things the Islanders do not have or do which should intrigue Tavares.

The Sharks feel as if they are that elite player away from doing big things in this league. John Tavares can sign on and finally be that guy the Sharks hype up for years to come. As a franchise, they can put themselves on the map.

Do not be surprised if the Sharks spend a ton of money to sign Tavares. They can afford him and are going all-in the next few years. That is also called, contending. Something that Tavares definitely wants to do.
