Here it is, football fans. The event we have all been waiting for! The NFL Draft is upon us. The order is set as we head into the first day of the draft. But, how would the draft look if that order was reversed?

The NFL Draft is where NFL franchises can either become instantly better or accidentally further themselves away from contention. The NFL is focused on parity. It should be. It also brilliantly does not have a lottery.

The worst team gets the best pick and the best team gets the last. But, imagine a league where the Super Bowl champion actually got to pick first? If that is the case, historically, the NFL would be much different from today. Quite honestly, it would probably be worse.

In this scenario, the Eagles will have pick number one and the Browns will pick No. 32 overall. The current order is completely reversed but trades still apply and still happened. This, to some, might not change much, but the better teams do not need the best players, so it is going to take a lot of creativity.

We will still follow the same, basic NFL GM philosophy here. The teams are going to draft a mixture of needs or best player available. But since the best player might be a waste of a pick for some teams, the whole projected draft picks will still come out entirely different.

Don’t worry, there can still be trades and still some shocking picks happening early on in the draft. Also, please note, this is just for fun so being creative and making long-shot picks is all part of it. The pick will still make sense for the current state of the team.

Let us pretend this is a real situation. I will still explain each pick thoroughly but still provide real, applicable knowledge about each team that is still useful for the actual first round!

So, how would the draft look if the stacked Eagles actually picked first overall? Let’s find out with the first four picks.
