New York Jets: Final mock draft of 2018
Round Seven: Darren Carrington II, WR, Utah
The Jets do have 17 wide receivers on the roster as we speak. However, we all know how Todd Bowles feels about competition. Furthermore, finding young wide receivers that a quarterback can grow with will only better that young quarterback. He an establish a connection with them and that can last for years. There are plenty of quarterback/wide receiver duos that will attest to that fact.
Today’s game is for taller wide receivers. Darren Carrington II stands at 6-2, making him a viable target in the red zone. He has had off the field problems, but many don’t think he is a bad guy, but just had some growing up to do. When he was on the field, Carrington was productive. Take a look:

For anyone unfamiliar, here is some video tape:
This young man catches the football with his hands which is a trait we don’t always see from young receivers. Carrington does need to become a better route runner. His cuts could be sharper and he doesn’t always accelerate into those breaks. To have a shot this will need to get better, but he is worth the investment at the end of the draft.
