Jamarco Jones. 3. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. OT. Ohio State. 30

After drafting Baker Mayfield, the New York Jets will have to focus on keeping him upright. They added Spencer Long and Travis Swanson in free agency this offseason, who will battle for the starting center position, James Carpenter and Brian Winters should be the starting guards, and Kelvin Beachum and Brandon Shell have the edge at tackle. The Jets could stand to improve every position across the offensive line.

Beachum, Carpenter, Winters, Long, and Swanson are owed a combined $1.5 million in guaranteed money after the 2018 season, so New York could look to draft an offensive tackle or an interior lineman. Without a second-round pick, the best available lineman in the third round is Jamarco Jones.

Jones was a left tackle at Ohio State but a poor NFL Combine put his athletic ability into question. He moves pretty well on tape, however, and should be able to play right tackle at the next level. Worst-case scenario, Jones kicks inside to guard and replaces Carpenter or Winters when the Jets move on from one or both linemen after the 2018 season.

With New York all but guaranteed to take a quarterback in the first round and without a second-round pick, the Jets will be looking at a group of offensive linemen that includes Jones, Chukwuma Okorafor, Will Richardson, Martinas Rankin, Joseph Noteboom, Braden Smith, and Wyatt Teller in rounds three and four. I’d be shocked if Gang Green waited longer than the fourth round to address their offensive line with so much potential turnover coming next offseason.
