New York Giants 2018 Schedule: Predicting Wins and Losses for Big Blue – Part II
By Sean Dyer
Week 13
Another game where the New York Giants should be favored! The Chicago Bears are a team on the rise but they are still likely another season or two away from contention.
Mitchell Trubisky’s rookie season wasn’t anything spectacular, but he’s giving the Bears hope moving forward. They also have a solid running back duo in Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. Chicago’s focus this offseason was surrounding Trubisky with weapons and they seem to have been successful in doing so with the additions of Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, and Trey Burton.
Defensively, the Bears retained cornerback Kyle Fuller and re-signed former Giant Prince Amukamara. They also have a very talented pass rusher in Leonard Floyd, as long as he can stay healthy.
On paper, the Giants should be able to score on Chicago. The offensive line should handle their pass rush and Big Blue has too many offensive weapons, especially if they add Saquon Barkley in the draft.
If they choose to draft defensive end Bradley Chubb, he and Olivier Vernon will look to put pressure on Trubisky and give him less time to find his new weapons.
These are the opponents that Big Blue has to take care of, unless, of course, they are looking to position themselves for a higher draft pick at this point in the season.
