Week 7

If this game was being played in the Meadowlands, I might give Big Blue the advantage because I think they’ll be able to score against Atlanta’s defense. As things stand, I think the Falcons offense will be too much to handle at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Containing Julio Jones won’t be easy for Janoris Jenkins, stopping the duo of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman will be a challenge for run stuffer Damon Harrison, and we don’t yet know if Eli Apple will be able to cover Mohamed Sanu. With a questionable pass rush, the Giants could also have difficulty getting after Matt Ryan. If Matty Ice can sit in a clean pocket, he’ll pick Big Blue apart.

Desmond Trufant is one of the league’s top corners. He won’t shut Odell Beckham Jr. down, but OBJ won’t be running wide open. Eli Manning will also need time to find Odell and Ereck Flowers will have his hands full with Vic Beasley on the right side. Deion Jones is also one of the few linebackers in the NFL who is fast enough to keep up with Evan Engram in coverage.

The Giants should keep this one close, but the Falcons will ultimately prevail in the comforts of their home stadium.
