Week 3

The Houston Texans may have finished 2017 with a 4-12 record, but key injuries to Deshaun Watson and JJ Watt derailed what could have been a promising season. With the rookie sensation expected back for his sophomore season, he and DeAndre Hopkins should be able to put up at least one touchdown against Janoris Jenkins and company.

JJ Watt returns to join Jadeveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus to form a pass rush that Big Blue will struggle to block. If the Giants can give Eli Manning some time to throw, however, this could become a shootout because Houston doesn’t have anyone who can cover Odell Beckham Jr.

Big Blue’s advantage will be in the passing game with OBJ, Sterling Shepard, Dez Bryant?, and Evan Engram running free. But again, Eli needs time to find those receivers which could be a problem.

Week 3 will be New York’s only back-to-back road game on the season, and although the Texans don’t have a draft pick in the first two rounds, I expect them to have a bounce-back year. The Giants need to hope this one is a high scoring affair and Pat Shurmur’s offense can take over, otherwise, Watson and Hopkins will be too much to handle.
