More from Empire Writes Back

The Jets get their franchise quarterback, and he is a good one. Anyone who has followed my work knows that I will be doing my happy dance if things work out this way. Many Jets fans will agree with me.

Simply put, Josh Rosen is the most pro-ready quarterback of any in this class. He is the best pure passer of any in this class as well. No Rosen is not as mobile as a guy like Baker Mayfield. But he can make all of the throws and that is what it comes down to in the NFL. Build a line around Rosen; build the team to his skill set.

Rosen has a bit of an advantage in that he has plenty of experience playing under center. Most college quarterbacks spend their entire careers in the shotgun and have to learn to play under center. Rosen doesn’t have to do that.

There are questions about his durability. That cannot be a reason to pass on this young man. Rosen throws the deep ball with touch and can make the short to intermediate throws that are necessary in the West Coast offense.  His footwork is like a ten-year veteran. Get him with a conditioning coach to make his body stronger if that is needed.

Just get this done. Please.
