Scouting Report. Wyatt Teller. 5. player. 31. Pick Analysis. OG. Virginia Tech

With the 139th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select … Wyatt Teller!

Big Blue needs to draft at least two offensive linemen this year. Adding Tyrell Crosby in the third round adds competition at tackle but they need to also add another guard to the mix.

Teller was a defensive end when he got to Virginia Tech but quickly made the transition to the offensive line. Teller has great play strength and good body control and hand usage. He may not be a starter right away but he’ll provide the Giants with much-needed depth with the potential to start down the road. You can’t ask for much more out of a fifth-round pick.

Nate Solder is locked in at left tackle. Ereck Flowers and Crosby will battle it out at right tackle. Brett Jones should start at center. Teller will push Patrick Omameh and John Jerry for playing time at guard. All of a sudden, the New York Giants could field a respectable offensive line.

So what did we think? The New York Giants add a pair of offensive linemen, including one who could start from day one. They replace Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Dwayne Harris with one pick. They give James Bettcher a playmaking linebacker he can use however he sees fit. Big Blue also adds a weapon to replace Brandon Marshall long-term and lands the best prospect in the entire draft.

Sounds like a pretty good haul to me! But let me know what you think in the comments below!
