OT. Oregon. 31. Scouting Report. Tyrell Crosby. 3. player. Pick Analysis

With the 66th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select … Tyrell Crosby!

The Giants made Nate Solder the NFL’s highest-paid offensive lineman and added Patrick Omameh, but the offensive line remains their biggest need. There is no way Dave Gettleman can let three rounds go by without adding a “hog mollie”. It’s just not in his DNA.

Crosby is a big, long, and strong offensive tackle who can move people in the running game. Crosby has experience at both left and right tackle but his lack of movement skills could stick him at right tackle in the NFL. After opening up holes for Royce Freeman in college, Crosby will have no problem making running lanes for Saquon Barkley.

With Solder on board, Ereck Flowers is making the transition to right tackle. Some fans believe this will solve all of his problems, but his technique issues could persist on the right side. If so, Crosby could take over at right tackle as soon as 2018. If Flowers and Crosby both look ready to contribute this season, one could move inside and compete with Omameh or John Jerry at guard.

Gettleman needs to bring in as many talented offensive linemen as possible and create competition up front. Bring Crosby in and Flowers may finally be motivated to fix his technique and become a respectable NFL offensive lineman.
