The Mets cleaned house in a lot of the right ways this offseason including the heart of the training staff but I just cannot shake my fear of the injury bug.

Injuries happen to every single team practically every single day. It is inevitable. Teams should never seek sympathy and need to just move on to the next guy. But last year it was a whole new level for the New York Mets.

This year, I just still fear that injuries can be a factor because of that. It has nothing to do with the season being young either. Cespedes didn’t get hurt last year until later. Conforto’s injury was well after the All-Star Game.

It’s just that no matter what time of the year it is, all the injuries this team can have will happen at random points throughout the season.

If they do stay healthy then watch out because this team will remain elite. But it is just bound to happen. It’s a matter of when, who, and for how long.

Until the first injury happens, we will see if they keep going down like they have in the past.

But for now, enjoy it Mets fans. Everyone seems motivated to stay healthy and be an asset to the lineup.
