The New York Mets are off to one of their hottest starts in recent memory. In the short season, it seems as if almost everyone has stepped up or contributed to this. However, it is early and some things need to be taken with a grain of salt.

There are good and bad things to everything in baseball. 162 games are good for fans because it is a long season but can be bad for players who are on bad teams because of the grind. Well, the New York Mets are off to a great start and are guaranteed to have at least eight wins out of their first 10 games. But much like all else, there are some cons to the hot start.

Yes, winning right out of the gate and sweeping the team that has been a thorn in the Mets’ side for years in the Nationals is mostly good. However, there is bound to be some hiccups along the way.

I will be the first person to admit that the New York Mets are already better than they were last year. There are even arguments to say this team is almost as good as the 2015 NL Champion club already.

But everything needs to be put into perspective. It’s an encouraging start and everything seems to be clicking on all cylinders. But it is still early in April and there is plenty of room to fall off.

So for the abundance of Mets optimists, and for the pessimists, let us provide you with two pros and two cons of the team’s hot start.

Let us start off on a positive note.
