Geno Smith

We couldn’t make this list of plagues without including this guy. Every Jets fan everywhere knows this face. Geno Smith. He was going to be THE quarterback and he was anything but. We go back to 2013 for this glowing selection. John Idzik had no allegiance to incumbent Mark Sanchez so he chose the second round to bring in, this guy. The rest was history.

At times he showed potential, such as his performance against Atlanta as a rookie. He also led the Jets to a last second win over the Buccaneers in week one of his rookie year. He also threw a perfect passer rating in the final game of the 2014 season. However, the rest of his time with the Jets he had a difficult time throwing the football to his teammates. He had ample opportunity to improve but he just never got it.

He even went into 2015 as the starter until he received the punch hear round the world that put Ryan Fitzpatrick into the lineup and ended Smith’s reign of terror as the Jets leader. To add insult to injury, Le’Veon Bell was selected later in that same round. So was Kiko Alonso and  Kawann Short. This was not our finest hour, that’s for sure.
