Dee Milliner

We couldn’t have a list like this without including Dee Milliner, could we? It was the first draft with John Idzik as the general manager and he had the chance to make a big splash with two first round picks. He did well at number 13 with Sheldon Richardson but the ninth overall pick ended up being something that didn’t work out quite as well.

For anyone who doesn’t remember this nightmare, Milliner was good in school, with six interceptions while at Alabama, but he was coming off of a major injury. Despite shoulder surgery shortly before the draft, the Jets made Milliner their first pick in 2013. Towards the end of his rookie season, he showed potential after Rex Ryan brought Ed Reed into the fold. Milliner’s three interceptions made it seem like they might have something with him after all.

Thanks to a slew of injuries, Milliner hardly saw the field again. Specifically, he was active for just eight more games as a member of the Jets before he was released in September of 2016. Milliner hasn’t played since although he took a tryout with the Green Bay Packers. Needless to say, this move didn’t leave the greatest first impression of the new general manager.

That’s five out of ten. We’ll be back with the other five in part two. Happy Passover!
