Predictions and Final Thoughts

The Mets and all their fans needed 2017 to end to begin looking forward to 2018.

With a lot of talent coming back, players getting better in the offseason, and a new young manager in to change things up the Mets need 2018.

With Thor healthy, Conforto on track to come back, deGrom’s injury scare a bust, all the right things seem to be going right.

Spring Training is not the best results wise for the Mets but the pitching looked good in the reps they had.

It is really difficult to not improve a 90 loss season so the Mets have that going for them.

However, in 2018 the Mets are still not rebuilding or throwing in the towel.

Next: Generation K 2.0

Instead of a just a final record prediction I’ll gave ranges and make a few more bold predictions:

  • The Mets will win 80-85 games
  • They will contend for second NL wild-card
  • Cespedes will play over 110 games
  • Syndergaard will get more Cy Young votes than deGrom
  • Harvey contends for NL Comeback player of the year
  • The Mets will have 3 players make the All-Star team

Mets fans are eager to see this new team. With the Yankees set to take the world by storm in 2018, the Mets need to hang on for relevancy in New York.

The season is just days away.
