The New York Jets have moved up to number three in the draft, making a trade with the Indianapolis Colts.

New York Jets fans everywhere are jubilant at this hour and with good reason. The news has broken that the Jets have moved up in the NFL draft, trading with the Colts to acquire the number three overall pick. Here are the details:

Take your hats off to Mike Maccagnan. He was able to acquire the third pick of the draft without giving up next year’s first round pick. As he was traveling to scout Baker Mayfield and Josh Rosen, the assumption has to be that he saw something he liked and wanted to make sure he gets on of them.

As Jets fans, it is easy to be skeptical. Going aggressively after a quarterback is not the typical M.O of Maccagnan. We still don’t know for sure who he is going to pick until the selection is actually made. However, all signs are pointing to him finally selecting a quarterback which will make the entire fan base very happy.

Who is it going to be? The prevailing debate is between Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield, although Sam Darnold could still be there. Rosen is my personal choice due to the fact that he is the most pro-ready of the entire group. There is a big groundswell of support for Mayfield, as many believe he has the right personality for the job. He is quite accurate, just like Rosen.

Jets fans will go nuts, no matter what, if they take a quarterback. Thought some might not be happy if the name is Josh Allen.

Coach Bowles, are you pumped up?

So are we coach, so are we. Hopefully the team will get it done with the right pick.

Next: Trying to figure out the QB plan

Mike Maccagnan may have finally figured out that he is on the hot seat. He can’t afford to make a mistake at the quarterback position again. They have to fix this problem now. We will see at draft time whether or not Maccagnan gets it. This move indicates he might very well have gotten it.
