DT. Da'Ron Payne. 1. 16. Scouting Report. Alabama. player. Pick Analysis

The Bills do not need to replace Marcell Dareus’ negative attitude but they can replace his ability.

Defensive tackle is a huge need for the Bills. The need becomes even more dire if Kyle Williams decides to retire. It is imperative they get a defensive tackle if they are sitting on the clock this late in the first round.

Da’Ron Payne from Alabama would be a very good one. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree because Payne also went to Alabama like Dareus.

The Bills could theoretically take a quarterback here but they shouldn’t settle for one. If they are not going to trade up and get their guy, then they should fill other issues and stick with Tyrod for another season.

Getting Payne or even another defensive lineman up the middle is key here. They can use later picks to fill less pressing needs.

Payne is a good selection. It does not matter if we swapped Payne and Washington. They will go back to back either way.

Payne can make a difference in the defense right away. He would not need much more time than the preseason to pick up on things. He is a big guy who maintains athletic ability.

Da’Ron Payne can be a big part of the process. The Bills need to bolster the defense to get even better.
