Three things for New York Jets fans to watch for during today’s NFL Combine workouts.

Today is the day that New York Jets fans have been waiting for. It’s time for that deep quarterback class to take the field and work out. We have literally been talking about them since the regular season. Sam Darnold has decided not to throw at the Combine but the other big names will, including Josh Rosen and fan favorite Baker Mayfield. In just a few hours we will see who raises their stock and who hurts their stock.

Then again, all of it could become moot when it’s all said and done. If the Jets figure out how to bring Kirk Cousins into the fold, the need for a top quarterback in the draft goes out the window. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for speculation sake, that decision doesn’t take place until after the Combine. So we watch these players work out under the assumption that the Jets will ultimately select one.

So what do you watch for? How do you know if they excelled or bombed? It is hard to tell since none of the drills are really game situations. You must take what you see with a grain of salt. However, some of it is quite important. Some of the techniques the quarterbacks show can give us hints of their ability to succeed on the next level. Let’s talk about three of them this morning.
