Orlando Brown
Here is an idea that hasn’t been talked about but one I absolutely believe in. The Jets wouldn’t even have to stay at number six to pull it off. They would be able to trade back into the middle of the round.
No offense is as good as it should be if the offensive line is defective. Kirk Cousins will not be able to complete passes lying on his back. Maybe he can but they won’t count. Once the quarterback is in place, the offense will live and die with the offensive line. A good one can hide a lot of problems and a bad one can make the problems appear to be worse. The Jets offensive line needs reconstruction. What once was a strong point is now a liability.
In walks the 6-8, 360 pound tackle named Orlando Brown. Yes, the son of the player of the same name that was an 11 year veteran in the league. The recent mock drafts have him going from 12-16, so the Jets could move back here. His frame is massive and his length is immense. Have a look:

I like the fact that Brown has great feet. He always keeps them moving. Look at that tape, nobody gets by him. I bet Baker Mayfield was happy to have him taking care of his blind side. This is a guy that the Jets could plant on the left side of the line and leave there for a long time. Maybe he could even be D’Brickashaw Ferguson 2.0.
If they don’t take a quarterback, who do you want the Jets to select early in the draft?
